In order to improve access to English-language services, ECO-02 researched what barriers were in place that were preventing local organizations from assisting the English-speaking community.
Through discussions, conferences and getting to know our partners, we’ve learned that one of the biggest barriers is a lack of confidence in their ability to speak English.
With this information, ECO-02 immediately began to develop a pilot program to address this need. A safe space, free of judgement, where local organizations can come together and practice speaking English together.
This is where we need YOU!
ECO-02 is looking for volunteers to come spend one Tuesday morning a month engaging with our partners in English, discussing the theme of the monthly presentation, answering questions and providing support to those who maybe speak a little English, but want to learn more.
If more of our community partners are able to speak English confidently, that means easier access to programs and services for you, members of the English-speaking community.
We’d love to have you join us in making health & social services more accessible for English-speakers here in the Saguenay.
